The starting point of my current work is an investigation into the photographic process based on the photographic camera or device. In order to build my own cameras I modify the manufacturer’s hardware. By doing so, I can invent or delete certain categories in the camera’s programs.

Rather than in perfection, I’m interested in the noisy and unexpected image taken in the simplest of ways. One of my objectives is to subvert the advertisement lingo of today’s camera technology. I am particularly interested in extending the boundaries of creation and transgressing the borders of photography by following a logic which is not focussed on functionality but expands more specifically into the domain of conscience. Because they are no longer programmed by the manufacturer but according to my own intentions, my devices are neither exact nor objective but intuitive, and hence more human.

I consider my work to be an experimental practice on the boundaries of photography, cinema and video, contrasting the expanded time of pinhole photography with the absolute instant of film.
