Overview

Künstlerhaus Bethanien is committed to making its exhibitions and other offers accessible to all visitors.

DIRECTIONS
The closest barrier-free underground station is Kottbusser Tor (U1, U3, U8). Künstlerhaus Bethanien can also be reached from the underground station Schönleinstrasse (U8) but this is unsuitable for wheelchair users.

PARKING
Unfortunately, Künstlerhaus Bethanien has no parking places available and therefore no parkling places for the disabled.

GENERAL SERVICE 
Companion dogs for the disabled are permitted in the gallery.

In the entrance area, we are happy to provide folding stools on request. These can be used as a support or as seating (tested up to 110kg). Please contact our supervisory staff to obtain the stools. Please note that the number of folding stools is limited and waiting time may be necessary if all items have already been issued to visitors.

Künstlerhaus Bethanien offers an information program for people with disabilities. Our supervisory staff will be happy to inform you of these services and to provide you with the relevant media and information sheets free of charge. Here is a comprehensive list of the services on offer.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING
Entrance to our exhibitions is direct at ground level, Kottbusser Straße 10; throughout the building, wheelchair users should be able to maneouvre independently in most situations. The exhibition rooms on the first floor are accessible via stairs but also by lift. To use the lift please contact the supervisory staff. The main exhibition room is at ground level but accessed via two steps from the entrance area. Supervisory staff will be happy to enable access using a flexibly installed ramp. Please note that the accessibility described here may be changed temporarily due to exhibition fittings. You are welcome to enquire by telephone whether the current exhibition means an alteration in accessibility for wheelchair users. TOILETS
The nearest disabled toilet can be accessed directly from the exhibition rooms on the ground floor.

FLOORING
All the exhibition rooms have concrete or linoleum floors. Should carpeting be installed temporarily for any exhibition, this will also be suitable for wheelchairs.

BRAILLE

In addition, a Braille information sheet for the blind and partially sighted explains the institution’s program.
