Representation and Light, Charcoal on paper, 15 x 9 m, 2018

Monochrome drawings form the basis of my artistic practice. My aim is to examine society and the individual, including myself, and all things beyond, and to simply express or reproduce the structures and textures I come across. I believe that each act and state of sensing is an act of expression that comes from myself and is directed towards my own self. I am working on several series of works simultaneously, but I continuously develop and change my production methods according to my daily life experiences, interests, observations, research, considerations and feelings. I want each viewer to feel that my work is exclusively directed at him or her. An artwork is made jointly by the artist and by the viewer, yet also by something outside of them both.
