ANDRÉS PEREIRA PAZ

Pachakuti time! (Surfboard)

The exhibition comprises different formal researches as well as works in progress driven by the lockdown of Andrés Pereira Paz. A Pachakuti is a quechua term that implies an overturn in space and time. By taking this term as a point of departure Pereira Paz understands drawing as a surfboard navigating troubled waters in an ocean of uncertainty. The drawings in the exhibition portrait states of mind under the effect of darkness, a darkness that according to the artist can only be enlightened by intuition and practise.

Pachakuti time! (Surfboard) is going to change over the duration of the show extending Pereira Paz’s studio at KB to the window front.

OPEN WINDOW is a series of presentations by the artists-in-residence at Künstlerhaus Bethanien, who currently don’t have the chance to show their work in the usual Open Studios and exhibitions. Their works can be seen from 4pm to 12am at the window front, Kottbusser Str 10 each day. Initiated by Arthur Debert.
