Montblanc de la Culture Patronage Award 2019:

The renowned prize initiated by the Montblanc Cultural Foundation was awarded this year to Künstlerhaus Bethanien.

To mark the start of Berlin Art Week, Montblanc celebrated this year’s Montblanc de la Culture Patronage Award in the gallery space of Künstlerhaus Bethanien in Berlin. Since 1992, the Montblanc de la Culture Patronage Award has honored the work and support of art and culture sponsors.
The German prizewinner in 2019 is Künstlerhaus Bethanien, which was honored for its extraordinary and long-standing commitment to the promotion of art and culture.
More than 150 invited guests from the German art and culture scene took part in the award ceremony and the subsequent party. “The fact that we have won the Montblanc de la Culture Patronage Award 2019 is a great honour for us and a very special tribute to our work, which we are very pleased about,” said Christoph Tannert, Artistic Director of Künstlerhaus Bethanien.

The Montblanc Cultural Foundation was founded in Hamburg in 1992. Its aim is to provide innovative food for thought by supporting art worldwide. One of the foundation’s most important projects is the Montblanc Arts Patronage Award, which to date has awarded more than 5 million euros in prize money to over 300 patrons of the arts and their organizations around the globe. Previous winners include Maja Hoffmann (LUMA Arts Foundation), Yoshua Okón (SOMA), Sandra Hegedüs (SAM Arts Projects), José Roca (FLORA ars + natura), Nadia and Rajeeh Samdani (Dhaka Art Summit), Solange Farkas (Videobrasil), Yoo Sang-Duck (SongEun Foundation), Julia Stoschek (The Stoschek Collection) and Leonid Mikhelson (V-A-C Foundation).
