Nellie Lindquist works with video and sculpture, using fiction as a critical tool to explore how ideology is staged in form, narrative and infrastructure. Drawing from her training as a sculptor, she approaches the moving image through the use of cinematic tropes, plastics and pop-cultural artifacts. Her previous video project, Tower (2024), reimagines an airport’s mundane architecture as a monument to aging modernity through the gaze of a teenage girl stuck in transit. For Künstlerhaus Bethanien, she will present a new video project, taking the prop as a starting point to stage sculptural elements from the video in the exhibition.

Nellie Lindquist earned an MFA from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Copenhagen, with an exchange at Parsons School of Design, New York City (2023).
