Chen Sai’s varied artistic vocabulary encompasses sound, drawing, sculpture, photography, installation and performance. His work is often a witty reflection of a given time and space, playfully deconstructing the boundaries between everyday objects, found materials and situations such as a damaged signboard or a half-eaten broccoli. Through these constructions / reconstructions and positionings / repositionings, Sai’s works stimulate different, yet meaningful ways of thinking based on simple, quotidian means.
