Igor Vidor has spent the last few years driven by an interest in investigating oppressive and violent situations in different contexts, mostly urban. The artist has collected a series of objects that convey signs of a state of violence deeply rooted in daily life. By choosing and approaching such elements in the composition of his works, Vidor shows us how symbols of violence are naturalized and end up gaining new meanings, whether playful, related to image production, or linked to aspirations about social status. It allows us to reflect on how such friction contributes to a scenario of intermittent and apparently insoluble violence that finds echoes and recurrences in the history of Brazil.
