Fanshon
Marta Deskur
"Fanshon" is the Polish word for a scarf that is known as "the Turkish headscarf" when worn with traditional costume, as it is tied beneath the chin and covers the neck, front and back. At the same time, it is also possible to hear in it an echo of the Polish word "fason", meaning something like "fashion" or "style"; there are manifold possibilities for interpretation. These form the basis of Marta Deskur's video performance which she will be showing in Studio III on 13th February.

The Mondopunkt is a Swiss system of collecting bonus points when shopping for groceries that has presented a projection surface for happy family life and modest prosperity in Switzerland for decades. Collected points may be exchanged for picture books illustrated with views of the big wide world. The Künstlerhaus is showing ten artistic positions from Switzerland in an exhibition entitled Mondopunkt from 14th February.

ESC
Net Art was not a passing fashion for the art business, but a Utopia. Employing irony, it sought to free art from monologue and rescue it from the museums. Since 1999 the protagonists of the movement have turned their backs on Net Art. At the end of February, the Media Arts Lab will be publishing a 76-page catalogue with discussions on Net Art, Net artists and a chronology of the most important Net Art projects between 1995 and 1999.
