An emergency entrance leads to the inner labyrinth. I stand in front of it and hesitate. Suddenly a jolt, then confusion, until I eventually realise that the entrance is an exit… First of all I try to create an inner sphere in which the horizon has no edge: the nth dimension, a paradox that confuses the distinction between inside and outside. This is why I often refer to my art as a ‘paraduct’. Invent a problem! Either a thing or dematerialisation. This is about fact and given, which means that you either let the problem (labyrinth) become a thing or you leave the thing to be just that. From this confrontation emerges the labyrinth. Then the problem starts to solve itself.

Ein Noteingang führt zum inneren Labyrinth. Ich stehe vor ihm und zögere. Plötzlich ein Ruck, dann Verwirrung, bis ich schließlich merke, dass der Eingang ein Ausgang ist… Ich versuche als erstes eine innere Sphäre zu schaffen, deren Horizont keinen Rand hat: eine x-te Dimension, ein Paradox, das dazu führt, dass Inneres und Äußeres nicht länger unterscheidbar sind. Daher bezeichne ich meine Kunst oft als „Paradukt“. Erfinde ein Problem! Entweder Ding oder Entdinglichung. Hier geht es um ein Faktum und Datum, das heißt: Entweder lässt man das Problem (Labyrinth) eindinglichen oder man belässt das Ding so wie es ist. Durch diese Konfrontation entsteht das Labyrinth. Dann löst sich das Problem von selbst.
