Saskia Noor van Imhoff

#+15.00 - Impossible to apply reason to what is unique. Impossible to create order in what is elemental.

Zooming in and out, resizing, translating and unfolding, it’s only a short list of the associative formal system that Saskia Noor van Imhoff applies to existing artworks and artifacts. Hereby she allocates them a new place in her landscapes composed of sculptural objects and photographs.
In # +15.00 – Impossible to apply reason to what is unique. Impossible to create order in what is elemental, her solo exhibition at Künstlerhaus Bethanien, Van Imhoff builds upon her previous exhibitions #+12.00 in Burg Bentheim and #+ 14.00 at Galerie Fons Welters, Amsterdam. She examines the formal properties of a painting by Ruisdael (that was part of an installation by Willem de Rooij), dissecting the painting’s dimensions, materials and colors in order to – literally – unfold the original work of art into a new installation.
