Reynold Reynolds

USA

Reynold Reynolds’s work utilizes film and video in a fine art context, developing projects to be shown both as short films and gallery installations. He employs the language and methods of cinema to explore physical and psychological trauma and the complexities of alienation. His work emphasizes visual power and aesthetic innovation over narrative development.

Stressing the inherent tension that results from the opposition of the beautiful and ugly, the emotional and lifeless, and the comic and tragic, he explores issues on a primal, pre-verbal level to create projects of raw emotional power. Reynolds often works collaboratively with artists Patrick Jolley (Ireland) and Christoph Draeger (Switzerland).
