We live in environments where we often deprive ourselves of the interaction we crave. By subtly altering socially accepted norms, I strive to raise awareness of our desire to engage with others and the surrounding environment. There is much to be said for private and public bodily interactions in daily life. The intellectual side of desire is often at odds with the physical, and we can feel both comfortable and uncomfortable in these moments.

There is always a mediator, or form of membrane, that separates the body and emotions both tangibly and metaphorically. By referencing the human body, and using materials drawn from the bodies of animals, I am able to express and expose thoughts that I find both stimulating and paralyzing. Those who engage with my work often experience a blending of insecurity, discomfort, surprise, desire, and a compulsion to interact.
